Let's talk about expansion.

I don't understand switching of allegiances. Even if they built the ballpark on my property. Loyalty hard to come by these days, I guess.

I moved from Braves countryish to within a mile of another mlb stadium far away. i'm still a braves fan, but i do have a new team to root for as well.

For me, it's hard to quit the Braves, but Hawk's up-thread comment sums why I sort of want to, if only—to use an organizationally-favored metaphor—some other team could not just be the prettiest at the dance, but also the nicest to dance with, and go ahead and sweep me off my feet.

I still personally feel like the whole SunTrust move/abandonment of downtown Atlanta by the Braves was actualized in such poor taste and, frankly, the new ballpark doesn't remotely come close to making up for it.

Logistically, Mexico would be a terrible idea. We already moved out of Montreal once. You could fire bird shot into the stands and not hit a soul. Are they ready to have a team again?

If the US Supreme court repeals PASPA making it up to the states to decide whether or not they want sports betting to be legal, putting a team in Vegas makes too much sense.

The other area that would seem to make sense is Charlotte. Two huge TV markets in Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham right there.

Maybe Portland, Indianapolis, Nashville.

If it happens, my bets are Charlotte and Vegas.

I don't think it's a matter of if but when. There is too much money to be made in certain markets.
