My post was in response to another post about draft results. I'm not arguing Wren should have been kept. But I will argue that recent drafts (especially controlling for position and number of early picks) are not likely to be better than the Wren drafts and that the ancien regime left two very valuable going away presents named Albies and Acuna without whom the rebuild would be in serious trouble. If you want to argue against those points let me get some popcorn so I can enjoy the show.

The value he got out of wood/simmons/gattis relative to their draft position was incredible. He deserves credit as he put together the scouting department after clark left.

I still believe that the international team was in place prior to wren asceding to the gm role. Braves have always had a strong presence in Latin America and I don't believe either wren or coppy should get much credit for that side.
