Garcia being traded to Twins

I'm okay with he deal Garcia was not too good and I'm sure Blair or whisker can give similar results at the big league level. So if we can get some money off the books and the team really isn't any better or worse the why not

This is what Longenhagen thinks about his ultimate role:

"It’s unlikely that Blankenhorn’s power will play at a corner every day and he profiles as more of a bat-first utility man in the Greg Dobbs mold, or as a below-average regular."

Another failed experiment by the brain trust. Should have called the stadium Brain Trust Park...

Who knows, but I doubt it's Blankenhorn. He's currently planing for the Twins A ball club and game is in the 5th inning. Wouldn't the Twins pull him if they had agreed to a deal that was pending medicals?

Meh, it's pretty inconsequential.

Blanketderp is fine. I just wish they could have figured out a way to package a few parts together to get a legit guy.

I think it would be difficult to find a team that would want multiple guys from the Braves. If anyone, it would have been the Twins. But if Blankenthorn is in their 5 - 10 range (and their 1 - 4 is pretty much untouchable), the only option would be another average FV guy like Wade or Thorpe.

Twins writer says they're taking on most of the salary, so that should minimize the return we get even more.

Not much in the Twins' system. We aren't getting any of their top 4 (Gordon, Gonsalves, Romero, or Kirilloff) and most of the rest of the system is high floor/low ceiling guys. Twins have always had a system full of big, slow white guys.

This is about the most utterly wrong post fitty has ever made. Their system has gold throughout it, but they a) have had key injuries and b) promoted guys too quickly at time. Burdi and Tyler Jay are both out for season; Gonsalves has been unhittable at times the last two seasons, Garver is a better catcher than anything in the Braves system right now. THey have taken three different pitchers from AA to the majors this season. Slow white guys, sure, but a bunch of their black guys are pretty slow, too.

Non-pitcher I wish they good gete is Lamonte Wade, lefty hitting OF in AA. This year and throughout his career, has shown power and average while walking more than he strikes out.

Maybe we get them to take all of Garcia's money so we can eat most of Markakis or Kemp's money? Doubtful but I'm being hopeful at this point.

I follow the Twins up here a bit seeing I live in Minnesota. Their 1 - 4 is solid, but after that I don't think there's that much. Garver is 26 years old and it's not like the Twins have an all-star behind the plate. I think Wade has a shot as a 4th OF. Like you said about Burdi and Jay, both injured, so who knows about them. Sickels has them at 15th best system coming into the 2017 system and part of the reason for that ranking is that they've graduated a ton of guys over the past few years. But I don't see that much left. I think Gonsalves will be a stud and Kirilloff may as well.

Blankenhorn would be a decent get if true but if Braves arent eating much of the deal probably not getting much in return. Bleh.
