SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 7/23 ... Which Pitchers Excel Today? A: NO ONE

He's had a pretty good season as a 19 year old in AA but I think he's lost some ground to Soroka and Gohara. My ranking of starting pitching prospects now looks like this:

1) Soroka

2) Gohara

3) Wright

4) Allard

5) Anderson

Those are the Big 5. Below them are guys who I think are more likely to end up as relievers in the majors but in most cases should continue to get looks as starters for now.

6) Newcomb

7) Sims

8) Toussaint

9) Wentz

10) Fried

11) Weigel

How is Wilson not in there??

Allard hasn't lost any ground on those guys. You can't just scout the stat line.

No, but you can definitely scout his peripherals... earlier in the season he was way out pitching his peripherals and now it's been obviously catching up the last little while. He has definitely lost ground on some of the other guys. Its pretty obvious.

I think Touki is a guy whose K peripherals lagged for a bit. It can ebb and flow. but I would be willing to move Allard, I think.

Yikes... he's easily in my top 5. You were always way higher on Soroka than everyone early on... Wilson is my Soroka

I was also pimping Albies and Acuna when they were still in diapers. What the other poster said about me scouting the stat line is true to some extent. But it's no ordinary stat line that I rely on. I'm pretty selective about the guys I go out on a limb with.

I remember you were bullish way, way early on with Acuna.

Lugbauer is definitely someone I'm going to keep an eye on. Have to love the big left-handed power from a catcher. No reason to get too excited about a college product in the Appalachian League, but he's not THAT old for a college draft pick.

No... he was all over him way before anyone else... like DSL/GCL. I remember that specifically

He was never in the DSL. He did well in the GCL. But what really impressed me was what he did in the Appalachian League after being promoted from the GCL that year.

Nsacpi doesn't need any build up. His depth of analysis speaks for itself. All I'm saying is many were on the acuna bandwagon for a while. The history is all on this board.
