Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

Mateo and Florial only represent about half of Gray's value.

The A's do love Florial though, so maybe the Yankees can steal Gray...

Mateo, Florial and others would be a fair package for Gray. Gray and Alonso would cost more though.

Mateo, Florial is a fair package along with others.

For just Gray, if it's Gray and Alonso, they'd need to add more.

Say whaaa?

Alonso has very little trade value. He could probably be had for something about equal to what Garcia got the Braves. He isn't even a factor in this deal lol.

Fair lol.

Even still, i dont think the Yankees have to follow the money value chart for Gray.

Florial has insane potential, and Mateo is good. Not sure what else would be included.

I will concede this though....

Beane has done a fairly poor job of getting appropriate value when trading parts the last few years. If anyone is going to take 1/2 price for Gray, it will be the A's.

If Beane is willing to sell Gray for half price, I would like to see Coppy take advantage of it, even if it means acquiring him in a losing season.

Would you trade Gohara, Allard and spare parts for him though?

Im not sure if something like one of them, Pache, Touki, and say, Wisler/Sims would get it done.

If the Braves were fighting for a playoff spot, I think Allard plus Gohara plus some parts is fair value for Gray. I would still prefer them to grow pitchers internally, but converting 2 risky prospects into 1 risky, yet proven, MLB starter is a decent move.

However, the Braves are non-contenders. I don't think they should be looking to acquire Gray this year unless the A's are willing to accept something approximating half his current surplus value.

Last two posts are it. It's context.

The Yankees are a playoff team now and the next two years. They have the resources to keep him.

We are not in it this yr. nxt yr we are likely a fringe team at best. Most likely we would get one year of gray on a good team and his arb number might be 15plus million

Re:Yankees and Gray- if they really have made their top three prospects "untouchable" and the deal is centered around Florial/Mateo plus, I think we could definitely beat that without it hurting.

I don't really believe the recent Yankees bluster. It reeks of driving the price up similar to how it went down for Frazier a couple days ago.

Yankees badly need another SP (they're trotting out guys like Cessa and Mitchell in a playoff race), and have the resources to pay him.

I dont see it as fluff.

Agreed. Gray/Alonso to the Yanks has been chatted about pretty extensively the last month.

Too bad we couldn't get Cordell. I was interested in him from Milwaukee. He should be near MLB ready if he isn't already.

Agreed. He is what I was hoping the Braves would get if they traded with the Brewers. I think Cordell can step in and be a pretty good 4th OFer next year.

I prefer the monster deal from tigers

Fulmer Zimmerman verlander if we can afford it. They don't want to send money so they take kemp as a dh

Braves send Newcombe Blair allard Riley sims gohara pache

Next yr

Verlander

Fulmer

Folty

Tehran

Zimmerman

Eats up all our money. Albies to 2b. Srod to play 3b and lf. Comargo for 3b 2b ss. Maybe Ruiz.

Line up would not be great. But you could do ff at 3b thing. You could bring up acuna. You could used d Peterson. 2019 your lf is Peterson and rf is acuna. Cut Zimmerman or make him expensive long relief and soroka to 5

MLB trade rumors just tweeted tigers are looking at this type of deal. They don't know if fulmer is really out there. Zimmerman has a no trade clause

Fulmer plus jup for

Kemp-salary even out

Allard-fulmer replace

Pache

Anderson

Riley

Can you post a link? I see them mention packaging JUp or Zimm with Fulmer, but I see nothing about them taking Kemp. That seems exactly the opposite of using Fulmer to unload JUp or Zimm.
