Mashin' to Mississippi
Suzuki is also the stat of the day, his 9 home runs have all come in different innings, 1,2 3,4,5,6,7,8, and 12th.
He's got 10 though...

What kind of nonsense is this? We have had some of the best catchers in baseball come through the system.
It is the Braves way to pay for below replacement level production
I'll give you Gary carter, but I don't really see your greats after that
The thing with Murphy and Houston is that they didn't stay at the C position. Murphy developed a mental block with his throwing and Houston scuffled along before becoming a utility player (and he turned into a pretty good one). I was ticked when the Braves traded Houston.
I'm still ticked they traded Murphy.
Do Javy Lopez and Brian McCann count?
You're right. We must also be great at developing 3B since we had Chipper. (Although we have clearly found a new way to develop star 3B, just have them be a 1B their whole career first)
You missed it like dansby on a slider.
I will admit that I am not following you. I'm not always speedy.
YEAH! 4 different star catchers plus a few other really good ones coming up through the system in the last 20 years is the same as developing one quality third baseman in the last 20 years.
Did you even read that before you hit send?
And for the record, I don't think we're magically amazing at developing catchers or equally unremarkable at developing third baseman. Like most things it just comes down to luck and necessity. I was just replying to the notion that we can't develop catchers when recent history has shown that we clearly can.
Gary carter developed by Nats (expos), not braves. Giles = nats' fan. I know it's hilarious when you have to explain the joke. I'll do better next time
Oh dear, is Giles really a Nats fan or is that joke?
