Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

Mets trading for AJ Ramos per Rosenthal

Mets traded their 9th and 22nd best prospects per MLB.com, seems like an overpay.

Mets are trying to stabilize their 2018 bullpen, but they did overpay.

I don't understand.. if the Marlins have the same record as Atlanta and are getting rid of their closer (signed through next year), why aren't the Braves getting rid of their closer (signed through next year)? There has clearly been interest according to Morosi and Heyman. Johnson has pitched better than Ramos this year according to FIP, xFIP, and WAR.

The FO needs to just come to grips with reality and sell. Anybody who can be traded for anything needs to go that's not in the long term plan. I'd start with Johnson and Viz.

Merandy Gonzalez looks like a solid 45 FV SP prospect to me. Price seems pretty fair. I value JJ more than Ramos. Slightly better pitcher, slightly better contract. Hopefully other clubs see it the same way. Given the overall market though, not sure we could expect to get a 50 FV type back for Johnson unless we're eating a nice chunk of the money (which I don't expect).

I think we'll see some trades this weekend. I could see every arm in the pen outside of Ramirez traded.

Obviously Suzuki is a good bet to be traded. I'm not so sure about BP or Adams with the market the way it is.

I could see Camargo flipped as well

Still want to see the Braves package a couple parts together to get a better return than all the nothing prospects we've seen trade hands the last few days.

Apparently talks have stalled between the A's and the Brewers on Gray because Milwaukee is unwilling to part with Brinson.

So, the A's are demanding Frazier, Acuna and Brinson in their trade talks. Do they want to trade him?

Clearly they aren't as skilled at valuing players as you are. Maybe you can give them a lesson like you did for us? Open your lesson with how Garcia increases his value after a single start, that should get them listening.

First team that gives the A's a package centered around a $30m+ prospect wins. If no team antes up I imagine they keep him until the offseason.
