7/29 GDT: Atlanta Braves (48-53) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (36-64)

If there is a thing Snit did that hurt us in this game, it was not giving Viz and JJ an inning each on Wednesday. Those two have not pitched since the Dodgers series. The team had an off-day Thursday. It would have helped them stay sharp (without risk of overuse) to have been given an inning each on Wednesday. I know we were losing the game and it wasn't a high leverage situation, which normally implies using other members of the pen. But just as you want to avoid overusing guys you don't want to go too long without giving your relief pitchers some work.

True pieces of the team played well. JJ is just a filler that snit needs to demote to 7th inning guy. Let's see if he has the nuts to do so.

Jim Johnson Blows... saves. Just horrible. I hate losing, especially against a team that is obviously way worse than we are.

I'm ready to get past the Bobby Cox and John Schuerholz era with Braves baseball and managing in specific. I think we need a fresh, young mind managing the next wave. I'm not a fan of Ron Washington taking over either.

Julio is no longer a good pitcher... not even an average one.

We blew it with him

Yeah he's pretty bad. I think he soared as high as 5th overall prospect years ago and now he's a backend rotation starting pitcher at best. A highly touted prospect failing to reach his expected status....color me shocked.
