Probably time for Jeffrey Ramos to be in Danville. Hits in his first two ABs today, including his sixth homer of the year -- his fourth in the last 10 games. Average is up to .312.

Herbert has had a pretty year. I wonder if they'll leave him in Rome all year?

Maybe they move him up, but it's my guess they want Cumberland to get as many innings behind the plate as possible. Neither Florida not Rome will be in the playoffs, but maybe Herbert gets a two-week taste of High A. It might depend on whether the Braves move Contreras up. Herbert's bat has come around some. He takes another step offensively and he's probably in our top thirty.

Catcher has gone from ugh, to well...this looks good. I've seen Cumberland (not bad behind the plate, must work on pop time and blocking), Herbert (Best defensive catcher I've seen in the system), Jackson (only saw once and i was more enamored with his at-bats), Contreras (Missed seeing him, but blocking balls in the dirt has been the consistent word - Better all around offense than the C's I've mentioned), Morales (Offensive first catcher, but I didn't think his defense was bad at all),Kade Scivicque (lost in the shuffle, but solid overall)....I didn't mention several others for personal reasons (I'm meh on them), but this has turned around quickly.

Abrahan Gutierrez has the chance to eclipse them all. Great arm behind the dish, offense is good.
