The #Braves are receiving international bonus pool money from the Reds in exchange for minor-league outfielder Randy Ventura.
 
I highly doubt Ventura will ever amount to anything. We must like someone really well on the international market.
 
We are limited to 300K per signing bonus. So this is doubly weird.

I do think this signing period and the next will be an interesting experiment. I don't mind spreading our international funds among 20 or 30 players who are decent but not elite prospects. When they are that young that might not be a bad strategy. Of course we have no choice but to pursue that strategy.
 
This must mean we plan on using up that international bonus pool which is good news.

I really liked Ventura. Sad to see him go.
 
We already have enough to buy 18 - 20 300 K guys next year.. very strange trade. I mean, Ventura was not going to play in Atl.. but why for int'll money.
 
We have some depth at CF in the lower minors so I was expecting one of that to do. I thought it would be in a largeercdeal, but this may be a situation where we know some teams interested in bonus slot money

No, as long as Julio Cesar Franco lives, so does the dream.

Plus, changing it to Julio2586 would ruin the homage to another ATLien legend.

Julio probably has 3000 hits if you count the Mexican League. So, it should probably be Julio3000*.
