Snitker stated that we may see Adonis Garcia in the outfield in September.

If Adonis starts at all at any position, it doesn't need to be at the expense of any of the kids.

Listening to these announcers make it obvious where the misconceptions that are common on this board come from.

In the last 10 minutes we have heard how great Suzuki is, and should be signed to a lucrative multi year deal this offseason.

And other teams should be trying hard to acquire Adams, but he's so good their offers would have to "knock my socks off".

Holy hell these guys are dumb. If they are the main source of knowledge for casual fans...ouch.

If Garcia plays anywhere, for any reason at all then they should all be fired. I say that because it obviously goes against the (unfortunate) chosen path of rushing up the kids and "seeing what they have." Garcia isn't a kid nor a prospect. We know what he is which isn't much.

Now, if all these kids were still in the minor leagues where they should be, then of course, play Garcia all you want. No problem. It could be justified as part of a well thought out coordinated plan. But to bring up the kids then give playing time away to a non prospect and a player with obviously no future would be insane.

I guess Chip forgot that the Astros are in the American League.

Geez, these guys are so dumb.

They also questioned why 29 teams weren't at Coppy's knees asking for Matt Adams when only a Juan Yepez could obtain a Matt Adams.

The statement you responded to said he would see playing time in the outfield. No kids in the outfield. If anything, it's good news for the don't promote Acuna crowd, which actually seems unlikely to happen at this point.

How about two more years at 8 million for Suzuki? Get him par with the Jason Castros of the world.

how many forums have you visited? Believe me, it gets much much worse.

edit - the announcers also generally know the players personally. They aren't going to trash a player they are going to run into later. They are most likely just trying to talk the player up, I don't think announcers that **** on players is going to go over very well.

LOL you still have no idea how to value Jason Castro. And you think Suzuki's 2017 HR/FB rate that is 3x his career rate is something that's likely to continue. Did you not learn anything from what happened with Matt Adams this year?

You still know essentially nothing...about anything. Good to see some things never change haha.

Statcast needs to share more data. Ender has below average speed for a CFer, but is unquestionably elite.

That means he is either very good at getting jumps on the ball, or is masterful at running his routes. I would like to see the data on how he gets it done.

Unless they can sign him short term and decently cheap...I would pass. Kurt (as good as he's been), is highly unlikely to reproduce this level of performance next year. Scivicque will probably be ready next year and would make a decent back up. By 2019....there should be at least a couple of more options.
