Lot of ball left to play this year but Georgia's D made me proud tonight. Even though we tried every way possible to give that freaking game away.

WOOOOOOO

Good game. I hope you don't think it was georgias game to give away. ND has come far in a year. They'll bounce back

Lol at Tennessee. Butch may be able to recruit, but his coaching is beyond terrible. Looking like a another 8 win season at max. How great.....

Unfortunately it's shaping up for him to save his job with a win over Georgia.

What's sad is that it's doubtful we fire him unless we go 6-6 or worse. Ideally, we'd fire him and bring Tee Martin home where he belongs. Or may be try to sway Jim Bob Cooter into leaving the NFL.

Its been a while since anyone posted in the CFB thread but I have to vent a bit.

Georgia in the game against Auburn on Saturday had to be the worst coached team I've ever seen. The entire team showed up completely unprepared and without anything resembling focus.

But worst of all was the utter lack of anything resembling adjustments. Auburn's defensive front is very, very good and they were absolutely locked in on getting into the backfield and shutting down Georgia's run game between the tackles. It became obvious very quickly that Auburn had the talent to shut down the power run game so what does Smart and Chaney do? They double down and call even more runs between the tackles!

After the game Smart was asked about it and his only explanation was that he wants Georgia to be a power run team and that's what they're going to do. Okay, I get it. You don't abandon the run unless you have no other option. That's fine. But when Auburn's D-line is so locked in on shooting off their blocks, getting into the backfield, and blowing things up, you have to try some stuff to slow them down.

The first thing any halfway decent coach does is start calling some screen passes. With how the D-line was pinning their ears back and shooting off their blocks, they were asking to have screens thrown against them. But Georgia didn't even try it. Smart was asked about the lack of screens and his explanation was that Georgia doesn't run screens because other teams cover our RBs no matter where they are.

Either Smart is spinning a tale to try to cover up his ineptitude or Auburn was assigning a defender to the RB. Even if it is true that Auburn had a defender assigned to the RB, that just means that they were leaving themselves open somewhere else.

There are also a bunch of other things Georgia could have tried to slow down Auburn's defense. Draw plays, quick slants, getting the TE's involved, picking on man coverage when Auburn was putting safeties in the box. ANYTHING!

But all Georgia did was keep handing the ball off and running straight into the teeth of Auburn's defense. I honestly don't know if I've ever seen a worse coached game.

Jim Chaney is so slow to adjust. His adjustment before the season was good and covers his tail most of the time but if you take it away the coach that everyone has hated appears again. The RPO and the read option. Someone finally made an adjustment to it and it was Auburn playing a DB as a LB and otherwise playing the RPO straight up instead of stacking the box.

In the next game he showed plays he should've done the week before.

Nervous as usual about the Tech game.

Regarding the Auburn game, I agree with a lot of what was said but nothing we called or did was going to change the outcome. The focus was fine until the second half. Once you lose the momentum on the road in an environment like that, you aren't getting it back.

Twice now Auburn has beat a number 1 team and twice has been helped to victory by that number one team making a ton of uncharacteristic mistakes. That home field advantage must have been huge.

Well yeah, when your on RB #4 it is likely to be a better game. Not sure Auburn’s OL can play as well vs uga as they did first go round
