He does not have "elite velocity".

Newk has 2 plus pitches that are good enough for him to be a 3 win 2-pitch guy if his control improves to average or better. If his control only improves to Gio-level, he can be a solid 2 win guy.

Most likely he stays in the 4-5 BB/9 range and is a BP arm.m

You're certainly free to get excited about that if you want.
