The Trump Presidency

LoL at the "privilege" of being a pro athlete.

Like, if you want the privilege of watching the best professional athletes compete, you might have to put up with the occasional opinion.

Most folks are willing to put up with opinions, but the issue here is clearly the disrespect for the flag and what it is at least supposed to stand for. Also, there are a lot of folks who treat the flag as a symbol of lost loved ones in wars and such. Colin's protest was clearly meant as turning the knife a bit. He knew this was a bit of a bitch move.

No Wes, the issue is unaccountable police brutality toward people of color.

The flag is a piece of cloth, the anthem a series of notes. Philando Castile was a living walking respected person in the community.

A US citizen

I don't think the evidence backs your opinion. There is a lack of accountability when it comes to police brutality in many instances, but thus far I've seen little evidence that applies to people of color in proportionality of crime. The flag and anthem are clearly symbolic. To dismiss that is really dishonest.

symbols of what "?

The "son of a _____ is you Mr. Trump. Not someone exercising their first amendment right. Unbelieveable that a sitting President use that language behind that seal in public, I am ashamed of him.

I have to disagree. Trump is actually making a really smart play here (I don't think it's intentional). The left is stuck defending how awesome it is to disrespect the national anthem and the American flag. Also, in case you haven't notice folks are insane when it comes to Trump. He's not going to bolster his overall popularity. I mean, Ellen won't have him on her show because of the way he treats gay people or something.

I disagree with your assessment. I think you are likely to see white athletes kneeling soon, not so much in protest of police brutality to blacks, but of Trump himself. I think it's a shame that so many athletes who call themselves Christian are leaving Kaepernick all by his lonesome on this.

Property rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom in general without government oppression. How do you view the symbolism of the American flag and anthem?

I could care less about the flag /the anthem and at games often sit through the national anthem. The flag is just a piece of designer cloth - that for some reason drugstore cowboys get all weepy over. Living in the South we have all seen PU trucks with both the Stars and Stripes and the Stars and Bars waving side by side. I don't get that
Nationalism, like religion, is a tool used to keep the proletariat in line. And let's face it, everyone here is Proletariat ,
The most disappointed I ever was in Obama was when he gave in and wore the flag pin on his coat lapel.
Those old enough to remember that was once outrage du jour.
It violated his freedom to wear or not wear what he wanted. Kind of a uniform

USA USA USA is a second best sports chant next to the Seminole Chop. (Save yesterday :) )
No more or less

Even as a child I never made the connection between the Star spangled Banner and the start of a sporting event.
IS "PLAY BALLL" the last two lyric to the song ?

Living in society we have freedoms. The issue is how do we define the limits of that freedom.
Charlettesville is an example. Berkley is an example. Last weekend St Louis is an example

People did care about Freedom of speech in Charlettesville.
Just 2 different interpretations

We have the right to interpret --- the freedom to act on those interpretations are is the rub.

So, I thinkk most are asking the wrong question. It is not whether or not one believes in freedom it is the limits one see's in those freedoms.

Lake Erie is the steel manufacturers lake as well as the boaters lake.
However, the steel manufacturer dumping sludge in that lake impinges on the rights of the boater.
That lake belongs to the citizenry,we the people and is overseen by the organization that represents we the people. Government if you will ?

Ramble -Rant over

You used to post from, and subsequently defend, infowars on a regular basis. I used to give you **** about the bilderberg group and bohemian grove. Sorry, you can't unring that bell.

So now you're running away from it? Fine, I applaud your better judgment, but I wish you wouldn't perpetuate the fiction that you didn't used to do it.

Any day now you can show your point. I find it annoying but unsurprising that you make an assertion that you can't back up.

Large amounts of federal aid began moving into Puerto Rico on Saturday, welcomed by local officials who praised the Trump administration's response but called for the emergency loosening of rules long blamed for condemning the U.S. territory to second-class status.
