GDT 9/20/13: Braves (Maholm) @ Cubs (Baker) 2:20 PM - HEYWARD BACK!!!

Avilan and Kimbrel are the only ones not to join the team late or spend time on the DL (or hurt on the bench and unavailable).

As also has been noted before, it's not just how often they pitch it's how many days in a row Fredi has them warm up. We've already seen at least one reliever with Braves be forced to retire (Linebrink) after a season here. He said Fredi had warmed him almost a full month of days in a row when not pitching leading to his injury that he never fully recovered. Plus since then we've seen a lot of bullpen injuries to relievers (Venters, EOF, Martinez, Gearrin, etc).

Thankfully we've been able to find replacements via the farm, waiver wire and trades as fast as Fredi can eat 'em and spit 'em out. I am mostly joking on the last part, but you get the idea.

He is clearly lower. He even changed during this at-bat. Second pitch was at his normal slot/angle.

He has changed it at times in recent games too. That's also why I think he's hurting, but probably trying to pitch through it. Gearrin did the same and finally couldn't get anyone out (and hasn't pitched since even after his demotion to AAA).

On another note, it's been clockwork for as long as I remember in baseball that a team gives up the lead and then immediately gets out of the inning.

well, it happens.

looks like the offense should've given maholm a 10 run lead in order for it to be safe
