Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

I'm not getting all Dayton Moore hate. I'm certainly not advocating that he should be our next GM, but I just fail to see how he is such a terrible choice.

I think the FO already knows what punishment is coming so they fired Coppy to appease them. Maitain has been a Brave for over a year now so pulling him would look pretty $hitty. It's probably a loss of future picks, hopefully not the #8 pick. O

Yeah. There's no such thing as a perfect option. Either we hire an unknown that could be great or a disaster or we hire a guy with known flaws who could be great or a disaster.

If what Passan says is true I think loss of this year's international signings and loss of the 8 pick is likely.

It took him 10 years and he still only got two years worth of contention. And in the meantime he made plenty of questionable moves.

There's also the fact that he left that organization an SVOD.

If they had the money to keep certain players or adequately replace the ones they're losing, the Royals would be in great shape moving forward. May be he should have traded some of the rentals away after last season, but they legitimately still had a pretty strong team. Losing Ventura to a tragic car accident I'm sure threw a wrench into those plans as well. Despite it all, they only finished 5 games back of making the playoffs.

And the 2 trades he was most lambasted for actually turned out really well for him. Escobar, Davis, Cain, and Shields were all integral pieces for their WS run in 2014 and 2015 (minus Shields in 2015).

That new rosenthal story said MLB didn't find anything wrong with the Maitan signing but could look deeper into it.

Odd that they don't mind Maitan signing but are looking into this 14 year old kid. It's the same situation over and over again.

In the end, baseball needs to fix the international market. The Braves and Red Sox are going to be punished for doing things everybody else does. You can't hold teams to a standard your rules clearly incentivize to step around.

Ah, the Muller strategy. Anything to legitimize your investigation.

I honestly feel i want to throw up!! This is making me sick. I don’t even know what to expect from all of this.

Because of all the reporting requirements for the Braves to be a publically traded company I doubt any large sums of money were being passed under the table. If the FO was cooking the books Manfred will be the least of their problems.

Ok posting twitter links from a phone sucks. I'll try to grab some more at work tomorrow.

I think I'm going to relocate my kids travel ball team to somewhere in South America and try to get in on these kickbacks.

If your dumb enough to try to break the rules to get a 14 year old to sign you are an idiot and deserve to be fired.

Go to your local travel ball tourney this weekend. You can find someone that will tell you how kid x is the next harper and kid y is the next kershaw.
