Around the League: 2017 offseason edition / 2018 Season

Agent Scott Boras tells Feinsand that Wieters is still mulling the decision (Twitter link). “What he does for a pitching staff is off the charts & in great demand,” Boras tells Feinsand.

LOL, huh?

Those wanting an owner who is more involved should be careful what they wish for. Wieters is the Nats terrible catcher because of the Nat's owners being bamboozled by Boras.

BREAKING: Plane owned by former #Phillies and #BlueJays pitcher Roy Halladay has crashed, one body confirmed dead. Waiting on identity.

Wow, that's shocking news. One of the best to take the mound in recent years. Should be a shoe-in for the HOF. When was the last time someone died during the 5-year period after retirement and was elected into the Hall posthumously on first ballot? Goodness.

Damn. RIP Doc Halladay.

If there ever was a sort of modern Maddux, masterful of control and many pitches it would have been Peak Doc those few years.

Watching Halladay mow down those Reds hitters in his first playoff start is something i'll never forget. You could tell from like, the 3rd inning that he just had it going on that night. Working fast, weak contact, just sitting them down. RIP
