The Atlanta #Braves today acquired OF Preston Tucker from the Houston Astros in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. In order to make room on the club’s 40-man roster, the Braves designated RHP Luke Jackson for assignment.

If you trade for Duvall you start him every day. His Power and defense are worthy to be a regular.

If you trade for Duvall you may as well trade for Grichuk instead and at least get a terrible OBP guy who can cover CF.

I agree. I think Grichuk makes a lot of sense. I've been thinking we'll make a play for him since the offseason began. The idea should be to field a competent OF that also is ready to make room for Acuna as soon as he is brought up.

You think Duvall would cost Fried, Pache, and Wentz. That's $55M+ in surplus for a 1-2 win OFer. That's more than the Marlins got for Ozuna.

I don't think either makes sense, but if that's the level where the Braves are OF shopping, Grichuk probably makes more sense than Duvall.

Prediction:

Tucker mashes RHers for ~100 PAs early in 2018 and pozzy-Brave posts about his hugely increased trade value overrun the board. They learned nothing from MAdams.

Intelli-Braves try to explain what's really going on, and all hell breaks loose in a 64 page thread.

Tucker cools off by June, intelli-Braves say, "I told you so", but the pozzies have already moved along to another exciting story...Acuna being called up.

Pozzies still learn nothing.
