I have no qualms with the position that Trump is inarticulate, although I don't think that makes him any less qualified to do his job.

I do have some issue with your touting of that particular quote as a kind of prima facie evidence that Trump doesn't know what his positions are or what he's talking about.

But these are two completely different things.

I'm not really sure how my position is so off-base (given the perceptions--by Republicans--that he was undercutting their position) or what you could offer to suggest that it is. When has he ever discussed policy in a way that suggested that he had a thorough understanding of it?

I don't know, I'm just looking at the transcript and not relying on any sort of extraneous interpretation of what happened in room.
