If I were Trump, and were trying to say what I assume he was trying to say, it would have been something like
America has been called a great melting pot. Diversity has always been one of our greatest strengths, and that diversity has come from all over the world. Unfortunately, the melting pot analogy is no longer accurate. We resemble something more akin to a salad, with fewer pieces blending, fewer cultures assimilating. Since no one nationality or race of people is superior to any other, it can only be the American culture that sets us apart. Unfortunately, we live in a time where many people think everyone is a winner, no one should be held responsible for their own mistakes, and it's considered blasphemous to disagree with the current groupthink. Our culture is in free fall into an unaccountable, Godless, neo-Fascist void. Until we can stop our own current swirling progress toward the bottom of the toilet bowl, I think it best that we minimize immigration from other countries that currently have even more challenging cultural issues. If you don't like it, go cry on a blog or burn down your neighborhood, or make up some silly chant to sing on a street corner, or whatever else it is you do to show the world that you're an adult and your feelings are hurt.
That way he wouldn't have offended so many people by using bad words.
