GDT -- 2/28/18-- Mets

he's a good pitcher...when healthy

He is a legit #3, and maybe a tick better. Obviously the problem is he can never take the mound. The only 2 seasons he has thrown 170+ innings he produced 4.4 and 2.9 fWAR.

He could very well be the Ace of the staff if he tosses 150+ innings. Or he could throw 50 innings and be replaced by Soroka in 2 months.

Sounds like he needs Leo’s throwing program.

some of the injuries have been freaky...hit on the head by a line drive...hurt non throwing shoulder lifting weights

Allard has certainly not impressed in game action so far

Biggest thing that stood out to me with Allard was how much effort goes into that 89 MPH fastball. His finish seemed to be out of control and almost violent.

Compare that to Soroka who looked like he was easily getting that 94-96 MPH sinker up there. His motion was completely under control and his finish was smooth.

After seeing Soroka, I'm starting to worry about my bet with nsacpi where I claimed Wright will be better.

Culberson might end up being a real good pickup to solidify the bench and have some flexibility to double switch

there will very likely be a big adjustment period and struggles at first for acuna but he'll probably be fun to watch even with them.

After 7 ---

Acuna 2-4
Santana 3-4
Tucker 2-3

Culberson and Colon with 1 hit each

Carle gave up all 3 Mets runs on 4 hits(1 HR), BB, in 1 IP
