Socolovich DFAd

Using 10 day DL to clear roster spot. Socolovich is a dime a dozen.

Would prefer a dozen Socoloviches over one Wisler or Blair. Would've sent them a dime to make it happen.

Adding Sanchez now is the strange part - why on earth use him in one or two inning stints over the next week rather than keep him stretched out and lined up to pitch on the 10th by making a start in Gwinnett on Thursday?

Given the early exits of some of our starters, I can see having Sanchez around for some multiple inning appearances. Could save some wear and tear. Maybe Sanchez won't be the 5th starter, but instead remain the long man out of the pen.

As I explained months ago, AA is going to use the 10 dal DL to rotate 15+ pitchers between AAA and MLB.

I would suggest not worrying about who occupies the last few slots on 25 man roster and what that means for their future because those spots will be a revolving door.

AA is going to do whatever maneuvering is required to keep as many pitching options available as possible...just like the Dodgers.

And yet again last night, Snitker goes tosses Sam Freeman out there in a pretty much "dead" situation. Anthropoulos is going to need a lot of options to keep up with madness like that.

Not going to make the numbers-folks very happy, but would anyone prefer Gabe Kapler???

:panic:

It's not that at all. If the game is out of hand, why waste another arm. I definitely side with the traditionalists, but I don't think one can find any approach that advocates wasting arms in "dead" situations.

Go get 'em Kapler (and the numbers he uses) - 5 more pitching changes tonight???

Wow.

They're going to need a 2-Day DL AND still wind up using every arm in their system at this rate - talk about needing to have a pitching-heavy draft!!!

Socolovich accepted assignment to Gwinnett as did Stewart. Glad Stewart accepted assignment, couldn't think clearly about having Perez as only backup until Flowers returns.
