Lebron has reached this level after many years of consistently improving his game. Heck, he is still improving. Durant is in the same process but is much less experienced than him. Durant is a much purer scorer and each year puts on a little more muscle. I think we will see him in the post a bit more this year and if that happens effectively then his overall efficiency is going to skyrocket.
Because there are always players that come around who as good as Lebron and Durant?

Except KD doesn't take the physical abuse LeBron does.
LeBron came into the league at 17 or 18?
And who is surpassing either of them 3-4 years from now?
You aren't talking about a Durant in his prime by the time Lebron slows down.

KD isn't even in his prime right now or is just entering it.
No one knows how LBJ will age as he enters his 30's.
Lebron is only 4 years older than Durant. How old was Kobe when he started slowing down? 32-33-34?
It's funny how the OKC lovers are acting like Lebron is going to slow down soon. "Hey guys, once Lebron isn't around, we got the best player in basketball!!!!!!!!"
Lebron is a level above anyone playing today. Durant will never reach that level. Chance are in the next 5-6 years someone will over take Durant.
Durant will probably go down as a top 15 player of all time. Everyone know that Lebron is a level ahead of everyone else but Durant is an all time great player in his own right. Durant will still be either the best or second best player (behind Lebron) when he is 30 years old. You act like top 15 players of all time come around all the time.
I anticipate Leborn will slow down by the time he is around 34-35. Durant will still be 30-31 at that point and with the way he can score and his length he will still be an elite player and probably the best in the game.
Its funny that you don't even acknowledge how special Durant is.

You say someone is going ot be better than Durant in 4 years is such a long shot and the fact that you say it as if its a sure thing is a joke. Durant will be an all time great and yet he is still underrated because he happens to have played in the same era as someone who will probably go down as the greatest player of all time or at worst the second best of all time. Also, lets ignore that Durant is still getting better. He played borderline elite defense last year and should get smarter in th enext few years.
Lets not forget that he will probably start consistently averaging 4-6 APG in addition to his ridiculous efficiency. Durant is playing at an all time great level and is still getting better.

Kobe didn't slow down then, he just had to change his game then, prior to injury, he was having an awesome year at 34 and he will have to change his game somewhat.
I don't see why you think it's crazy for KD to surpass Bron when he's 34 and loses some athleticism.
Ouch....time for Reggie Jackson to step up. Sucks the way the injury happened.
