Criterion 24-Hour Flash-Sale.

Paging KeithLockhart.

Since it is that time of year, I've been watching a ton of AMC Fear Fest and horror movies.

However, I've been holding off on watching The Great Dictator for a while (criterion).

I may just decide to watch it, I've been only holding off on it because of run-time but this I can make an exception for.

Since I'm on the topic of that movie (Dictator), Glen Beck has referenced that Charlie Chaplin speech from the movie (youtube it with inception music). Now conservatives who've never seen it before are in love with the speech, but they all say "except for the part where he talks about open borders, progress through science".

Regarding seasonally-appropriate films: this past weekend, I watched Häxan (which was tremendous) and rewatched Throne of Blood (whose witch – not to mention Lady Macbeth (Asaji) – is the spookiest in any adaptation of Macbeth I've seen).

Gravity kicked ass in IMAX 3D.

Captain Phillips was also very good.

There's some major debate as to whether or not how accurate Capt Phillips is. It's Tom Hanks so I'll watch it, but I may wait for the home media release.

As for Gravity in IMAX 3D, it was the first time my parents watched an IMAX 3D movie and they were overwhelmed with enjoyment. I was too, as this is the first movie that actually used the 3D to what it's capable of. My parents and I were dodging the debris flying at us left and right hahaha.

I wouldn't wait. It was an excellent movie.

Outside of Avatar, Gravity was the best 3D I've watched.

I'm skeptical that many conservatives have gone out of their way to make that exception
