GDT: Mets @ Braves game 3

In a season where the Braves would need everything to go right for them to be in contention at the end this is certainly a game and start to the year that would count towards that. Good times.

Agreed. It’s starting to look like it may be buying time at the deadline.

I'm not sure if this tells us anything but 4 of the Braves' 8 losses have been extra innings, which means in 9 innings we are 11-4. One of those losses was the debacle 8th inning against the Cubs, so you could make the argument that the Braves have only been truly beat in 3 games (all against WSH). Pretty impressive.

that would be what we will be shopping for at the deadline

It's too bad we didn't pick it up in the off season like I was clamoring for. That would have been the time to do it. Bow we are going to have to pay an absurd premium if we are in it at that time.

And they should have beat Philly in regulation if Bourjos slides cleanly.

We got the farm to do it.

But some re-inforcements on the way (Soroka, Gohara, Sanchez, Bautista, Flowers, Acuna) Fun times ahead.

Relief pitching??

If the Braves are going to be trading real, valuable assets, I’d rather see them pursue a starter and bump someone to relief than acquire a reliever (unless there are especially good deals in the latter market). Of course, I don’t think it makes sense to buy until the 2019 deadline, at the earliest, if there has to be some deadline acquisition happening.

I think it makes the most sense to trade for a position player(with control)at the deadline since the market doesn’t escalate for them like pitchers.

Today was cancelled much quicker than I remember the Braves doing, actually. Usually, they're very stubborn compared to other teams.

Honestly, the radar actually had a dry slot early on in Alabama, but it started to fill in and then it looked like no way at all.

This would've been a good weekend to do a DH, because the forecast was obvious beforehand and there was a high chance on rain.

my only problem with this is, simply bumping a starter to the 'pen isn't certain to work. some guys won't work out there and then you've solved nothing.
