Roster Moves This Week

With Flowers and Joey Bats expected to join the team at some point on this road trip, and Sanchez also possibly due back, what are some roster moves you would like to see made.

With Flowers, obviously Perez gets ousted.

With Bats, maybe we can finally say goodbye to Borjous?

With Sanchez, do you let Wisler go back, even though he looked awesome in his start? What if he repeats that performance this time around? Maybe Sanchez to the pen and remove someone from the pen? (personally would prefer that move)

Culberson's glove work aside, I don't see how you can keep him around over anyone else on the roster right now and I think he's the logical guy to go if Bautista joins the club.

Pitching staff shuffle is a bit more interesting. Maybe they give Wisler one more start before activating Sanchez to see if he's found something repeatable.

Yeah. I think Dansby clone is sent packing. Especially since Bats is an IF now.

I think the real question is Sanchez. Especially if Wisler kills his next start.

Probably give Sanchez a rehab start to see if Wisler puts three together and then you have a decision. Probably still send Wisler down, I'd guess. Neither one of them really is very appealing in the bullpen.

Braves have a lot of versatility in the middle infield right now, but you would want to know what the FO thinks about SS scenarios. Culberson may be the best defensive option, but you could always promote him if there were an injury. Between Albies, Flaherty, Camargo you could cover SS relatively easily in a game scenario, I'd think.

Flowers clearly gets Perez demoted.

Sanchez I think bumps Wisler to the pen and one of the lesser relievers gets cut.

Joey Bats is the interesting one. If the FO is adamant about trying him out at 3rd then you have 3 options. Camargo, Flaherty, and Culberson. Culberson is the weak link here offensively but also the only one who can really backup short. That's going to be a tough call.

edit: I mean it's not really that tough in what I would do but who knows. Culberson seems like an AA guy to me.

The decision will be offense or defense. Camargo and culberson play the same positions; but culberson is better up the middle, and camargo is better with the bat.

It really should be Culberson that goes. Swanson is a good defender that doesn't need replacing late in the game. Culberson is really a spot start guy to give Swanson a breather and Camargo can handle that.

I think you probably lean offense and versatility with a bench player so I would pick Culberson and would be ready to promote him if I needed someone to start at SS. You could even shuttle him back and forth if necessary.

Feels like there is a minor trade waiting to happen here.

That's a good point in regards to Dandby's clone.

It seems like these few moves could really improve the team this week. Have to think Socolovich would be odd man out in the pen.

As a founding member of the Camargo bandwagon, where is the notion he isn't a stick at SS coming from? His calling card has always been defense until lately when his bat has crept forward.

He can handle SS just fine. He is your backup, and shift Flaherty and Bats to 3rd in case of a Dansbae injury.

Culberson and Perez obviously. Wisler will start at least 1 more game. Depending on how he does, he could keep the 5th spot.

If Bautista is coming to play 3B every day then Camargo needs to go to AAA so he can hit everyday. He's still something of an unknown prospect so he doesn't need to go stale on the bench.

RE: Culberson being the backup SS, even if you don't believe in Camargo there, have we forgotten that Ozzie only moved to 2B because of Dansby? He's fine as the backup there.

Edit - Nerf beat me to it on SS.
