MINORS FINAL TUESDAY 4/24/18: Whitley serves notice

One interesting thing about Riley that jumps out -- his ground ball percentage is down to 34.7%. We're obviously only 74 PAs into the year, but that's the lowest GB% he's had since moving to full season ball.

There is a difference between not thinking he is good and believing he is a top 50 prospect. I had him in the 75-125 range of prospects in the offseason.

After basically saying he was a non-prospect most of the year last year.

He is proving that AA is not much of a challenge right now. THe defensive reviews have gotten better each year. His body has changed the last two years.

This dude is a legit top prospect right now.

Amazing that my opinion on a player changes as they get better.

Shrug, do a search for posts where I have said "Riley is a good prospect". Search for the times I've called him a RHed Jake lamb, which is a 2-3 win player.

You will find several instances of each.
 
While you all argue about Riley, Tyler Neslony is hitting .324 with a .382 OBP and strong k and bb numbers. Mike Soroka is a big fan of his, too.

There is a difference between trashing and arguing against him being the best prospect ever.

When you hype literally every Braves prospect ever then they will get some of this backlash.

You have to realize that tehteh has literally been wrong about everything for years. The only issue now is that I've been constantly pointing it out, whereas in the past everyone just conveniently forgot.

Now he is desperate to be right about something. Just wait until Albies posts 6 WAR, or Riley turns into a 4 WAR player, or any of the other Top 5% outcomes he's predicted come true...he is going to piss himself with delight haha.
 
i don't think it's that he "never learns." he's an optimistic fan. i don't think he's nearly as worried about being right all the time as you are. which is fine. what's weird, to me, is that it upsets you so much. you get more upset when he's wrong than he does. you get upset when he makes an (admittedly outlandish) prediction.

the constant need to put people down for going outside your numbers-based predictions is far more worrisome to me than thethe liking riley more than anyone else.

there's all kinds of intelligence. some people have some in some places, and lack it in others. and i'll leave it at that.
