I also wouldn't call it "good batured ribbing"
The people in there despise him and get really vile with the jokes

They do despise him, as do I, but it's a chance for him to show his humanity and he should take it.
They would hate him less if he had the political skill to take the heat. Politicians develop tougher skin early on. It comes with the territory.
His attacks, OTOH, come daily and without warning on Twitter and in his speeches. They are arguably even more vile and hateful because they aren't attached to jokes. They're just unfair swipes at people. He's been roasted before and endured jokes up clsoe. I don't know what's happened to him. He would get all the time he needed for rebuttal.
Skipping the Correspondence Dinner is another unforced error.

They accused him off being a rapist multiple times.
Not light hearted
He probably is a racist or he at least like pretending to be. He deserves being called on it.
The fact that you think missing the WHCD is an unforced error speaks to how out of touch you are with what actual Americans think.
Of course it's an unforced error and I'd bet you that J Kelly and his other advisors told him to suck it up and attend. They could find someone to write him some killer jokes and he would get the biggest applause. Woody said that 90% of life is just showing up. He's right. Americans love an underdog and that crowd would sympathize with him (some) if he had the balls to face them.
Think of all the times he's attacked innocent people (been doing it for years, sticking his nose in where it didn't belong) and now he doesn't have the backbone to listen to jokes. It really shows, perhaps more than anything else, what sorry stuff he's made of.
no, everyone is a bigot.
A racist is one with the authority to impose policy that targets a race, religion or ethnic group.
Trump's history (as a landlord) of discriminating against the Negro dating back to the early 70's qualifies him a racist.
You can look it up
Let me know when you find out how Trump was attached to those and who was really the one pushing it....mmmk?
Federal investigators also gathered evidence. Trump employees had secretly marked the applications of minorities with codes, such as “No. 9” and “C” for “colored,” according to government interview accounts filed in federal court. The employees allegedly directed blacks and Puerto Ricans away from buildings with mostly white tenants, and steered them toward properties that had many minorities, the government filings alleged.

For the record, I said rapist, not racist.
The right should be used to being called racist by now
Totally unfairly, of course.
