You could see it easily after watching him last year. People will laugh at this and I don't care but the dude has a 'presence' at the plate. His movement before the pitcher comes set just exudes comfort and confidence. He is always meeting the ball out in front and hits the ball hard.

Not sure that’s so clear. Only 5/26 in the week preceding this game, sure, but players are going to scuffle; plus Vargas has been trash and is a lefty; plus Swanson’s clearly the best defensive SS in the roster.

I’m not categorically opposed to giving him a day off; I just don’t think it’s some absolute necessity, either. Nor does it seem clear tomorrow’s the ideal day (and honestly today would’ve made a lot more sense).
