GDT 5/10 Braves @ Marlins

It's still amazing to me that the Marlins traded Yelich for Brinson (I know there was more but he was the centerpiece) who is batting 8th for them and hitting .169 and they were asking the Braves for Acuna.

I've always thought Brinson was super overrated due to his contact issues and having to repeat levels to have good success, but I'm not sure why this is amazing in any way. Brinson has been a top 20-25 prospect the past three seasons, and was #13 on fangraphs going into this season. The marlins weren't going to trade Yelich without getting a top 15 type prospect, nor should they have.

Well you stated it...he was super overrated.

And like I said they asked the Braves for Acuna...Brinson is no where near Acuna's level. They asked Toronto for Vlad Jr. It's just laughable they would ask for those guys from the Braves and Jays and then settle for Brinson.

They wanted an outfielder and likely got the best OF prospect they could get.

I'd put Inciarte back leadoff tomorrow, I like him not leading off vs lefties due to his struggles vs lefties so far (before last night and so far tonight). I'd put Albies back in the two hole in front of Freeman. That probably leaves Acuna 5th the way Markakis is hitting.

We're well on the way to it, but it's honestly a mistake unless you think Inciarte is a top 4 hitter on the team. And he's not when BABIP isn't good to him.

Like I said before Albies faced a LHP in Cincy, there's issues if he doesn't hit him.

I think it's time to get a teeny bit concerned.

I expect Inciarte to end up with similar overall numbers that he had last year by season's end. I'll take that in a leadoff man, esp. with him stealing more bases this year. But I would still have Albies leadoff vs lefties.
