GDT: Cubs @ Braves 5/15

To be fair, guys currently suspended for PED use probably shouldn’t be playing until their hand breaks

There's an appeal process for a reason, and I think it's fair. If there's an "unfairness", it's that the DL-stint is going to be folded in with the suspension; that's an easy remedy.

But Joe's idea of a "second chance" being a voided contract and a five-year ban is sheer idiocy (if also classically curmudgeonly).

There is nothing that could have happened that warrants an appeal taking almost 2 months.

Yes, Joe was really flexing his moron muscle.

Almost as bad as tehteh saying it’s good to see Gohara throwing 94.

Is there some sort of stupid in the water in Atlanta?

Those two awful calls earlier cost us at least a two run lead. Maybe a huge inning. I cannot believe snit just sat and watched all that without putting the game under protest. I have seen a lot of bad umpiring in my time but those were two of the worst calls back to back I've seen. I am very disappointed in Snit not standing up for his team there too. If we lose this I think am done with MLB for a while, simply based on principle. I am fine with losing, but this is cheating and pure bull**** politics.

I'm not sure how I feel about nullifying contracts.

The testing is still such an imperfect science.

It's a terrible idea, at the moment, and the litigious grey-areas it'd open up are one primary reason it won't happen. Players already forfeit their earnings whilst suspended, and see a perma-ban after three fails; that's a pretty good get for ownership, and I doubt they'll push too hard for more when there are shinier apples on the table for them to squabble over.

I know it's cool for some to drool over control and command over stuff, but a large velo drop, if it stays real, plus the other stuff going on with Gohara is indeed VERY worrisome.

Gohara lost his dad over the offseason. That he lost his conditioning and some on his fastball is not surprising.
