I'm not the one saying I know more than the stats when I watch guys everyday and then admit to not watching a guys start I've railed on all year.
I wonder how many Folty starts he has missed.
I wonder how many pitches he has watched in the starts he has seen.
I wonder how many of Folty's 878 pitches he has seen this year.
Know who's seen them all? Statcast.
Know who's data I trust more than tehteh's? Statcast.
You're worrying about semantics. I tell people that I watch every game but every year I do miss a few. Thethe is an emotional thinker and gets a lot of things wrong. Just explain to him why he's wrong and move on. The constant badgering he gets grows old.

If anyone really wants to look at the actual difference between Newk and Folty, look no further than GB rates.
Folty has consistently induced ~40% GBs or less, while Newk is sitting at nearly 50% this year.
The reason being Newk gets huge ground out rates with his plus CU (68% for his career), while Folty doesn't have a single breaking pitch that induces even 40% GBs.
Due to the lack of GBs, Folty is much more HR prone than Newk (1.3 HR/9 vs 0.8 HR/9).
We already knew this. We already knew Newk had TOR stuff, and Folty had mediocre breaking pitches. This is not new information. It has nothing to do with some magical and unproven silly assertion that Newk misses in the zone less often than Folty.
What's concerning about Folty is the huge uptick in BB/9, from a career rate of 3.23 to 4.60 this year...rather inexplicably. He has historically had much better control than Newk, and now suddenly doesn't. That better control used to close the gap between Folty and Newk. Now that Folty's control is garbage just like Newk, he is a worse pitcher than Newk. It's clear and undeniable.
I'm guessing we see Folty tighten up his control closer to his career rates, and we see Newk's 0.58 HR/9 in 2018 regress a little closer to 1, and they end up being very similar "stuff #4s".

It's funny. I enjoy funny things. I'm certain tehteh doesn't care in the least what a random guy thinks about him.
It's a message board, and it's nice to see tehteh doesn't take **** talking as seriously as some of our more sensitive members.
Enjoy is strong but I pride myself on being patient and open to any and all viewpoints while still holding my own strong opinions.
I just don't engage with those that aren't willing to show some semblance of civility.

I agree with this word for word. If he approached every batter the way he approached Baez in his last out, he'd be every bit an ace. He attacked him and didn't try to nibble. Then made him look foolish on that slider.

We need to stop debating pitchers until we get a new pitching coach. We continue to see regression in control from everyone that’s comes in contact with chuckie. Look at B-Mac. Hell. Look at Fatolo and how he can now remember how to throw strikes.
