ok it was a gamble, but time for the Braves front office to realize the guy is toast.
but this tells the real story

from 2016 through 2018, the hitters with the lowest averages against 96-plus mph include (among others) Chris Davis (.120), Mike Napoli (.123), Ryan Braun (.151), Jose Bautista (.165) and Ian Desmond (.178), all beyond their 30th birthdays.

on another note, interesting stat

• The Braves and Pirates rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the National League in runs scored -- and they also rank No. 1 and No. 2 for the fewest strikeouts in the NL.

I guess contact DOES count after all!

It never should have happened unless he produced in AAA (which he didn’t).

Flaherty and Camargo do a solid job at third. It is not the glaring weakness some guys act like it is. Heck, it’s even a strength many nights at this point.

You guys can give up on us “acquiring” any third baseman. Unless Riley tanks...he is the 3rd baseman next year and maybe even this year if he performs well and the Camargo/Flaherty combo begins to struggle.

Riley will be an above average 3rd baseman from the start with rookie pay. If you guys think we are going to trade for a rental and add extra payroll or go out and sign someone like Machado, when we have a dirt cheap, young, controllable, above average replacement...you are crazy. We are not the Yankees and payroll concerns have to be realized. Any position that we are above average on the cheap will be a no brainer, so we can spend on other areas to either keep our young guys or upgrade a below average position.

there's no need to go after a third baseman. camargo will prove to be an above average third baseman and riley is waiting in the wings as a legit top prospect now.

go get a win the world series starter or do little and sit back and watch the braves win for a decade. but whatever you do, don't give away the future on rentals at this point. our bravos are already the best team in the NL with what they have and only stand to get better over the next several years.

Yep. When we were good and started trading for “win now” peices...it was the beginning of the end.
