The Trump Presidency

My source is the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Looking at our respective data series I'm guessing your series does not include services. Mine has goods and services.

You are right that there was a larger increase in 2017 in both series. Do you have any theories as to why this happened?

No I don't. But it seems like you were making the argument that the growth was very normal and was happening under Obama.

The growth past year was a big jump

there is a fair amount of variation from year to year in the data...a lot of it is noise...why was 2013 strong and subsequent years weak...with bilateral trade data it could be bunching up of deliveries by a big exporter like Boeing or a bad harvest in China or elsewhere for corn or soybeans

Article I alleged in part:

On June 17, 1972, and prior thereto, agents of the Committee for the Re-election of the President committed unlawful entry of the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee in Washington, District of Columbia, for the purpose of securing political intelligence. Subsequent thereto, Richard M. Nixon, using the powers of his high office, engaged personally and through his close subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or plan designed to delay, impede, and obstruct the investigation of such illegal entry; to cover up, conceal and protect those responsible; and to conceal the existence and scope of other unlawful covert activities.[95]

Article II alleged in part that Nixon:

repeatedly engaged in conduct violating the constitutional rights of citizens, impairing the due and proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiries, or contravening the laws governing agencies of the executive branch and the purposed of these agencies.[95]

Article III alleged in part that Nixon:

failed without lawful cause or excuse to produce papers and things as directed by duly authorized subpoenas issued by the Committee on the Judiciary of the House of Representatives on April 11, 1974, May 15, 1974, May 30, 1974, and June 24, 1974, and willfully disobeyed such subpoenas.[95]

this over view should be required reading

Lets see how good Trump and his team are at negotiating. Can't wait to see the ending export figures to China in the next 2 years.

The Markets certainly love this discussion.

we should be making a lot of progress on the deficit with China just on marvel and star wars movies. Infinity war opened to 200 million in China.

what world is this

*Jones and Kushner come together to advocate for a bipartisan solution to many issues facing prisoners, and a few Senators create legislation that could make an impact*

*McConnell refuses to bring it to a vote somehow*

*Trump tweets about Crooked Hillary*

Great read.

Trump’s tweets include grammatical errors. And some are on purpose

“If the political conversation is about Donald Trump’s typos, that plays into the narrative that the coastal elites don’t understand ordinary Americans who make typos,” said Stephen Farnsworth, a political science professor at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia.

trump needs a BIG round of applause for his amazing work on north korea. i mean, what a job. why isn't everyone super impressed??

meanwhile, more corruption comes to light. meanwhile, more security concerns come to light.

The Broidy/Nader story of the last several days is pretty crazy.

Lots of money flowing. Gulf State contracts, Pentagon Contracts, payments to Cohen, Erik Prince...

Some of it is the usual stuff. Swampy but legal. But I suspect some of it will land people in jail. There is an electronic trail, some of it due to a hack apparently perpetrated by the Qataris. And Nader is presumably providing corroboration of the electronic trail. I would guess at least one more person will flip.

But there is also an overarching question of importance to national security. Was our relationship with a country that hosts a very important American military facility in the Middle East subordinated to considerations having to do with personal financial gain. I don't claim there is proof yet of this. But I have my suspicions and hope to see some clarification regarding that matter.

Should we start a UAE/Saudi collusion thread?

No need. We can either discuss here or in the Russian thread. The Russian and UAE/Saudi collusion have some common elements. Nader. Erik Prince Superstar. The Seychelles. The 19% of Rosneft bought by the Qatar Investment Authority.
