2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

Camargos defense needs to play everyday at third. He is a tremendous positive over there and I think he will hit enough at the bottom of the order where he will produce 2-3 WAR extrapolated over a full season.

Have you ever heard of Adrian Beltre? I hear he's a decent defender over at 3B too.

Oh, and he can hit a little too.

I've heard 3B from Braves fans and SP from the media, but if I were AA I'd be looking at 2 big time pen arms.

Bullpen could use another arm but Carle, Winkler, Freeman, Minter, Viz is a pretty good core group.

Offense needs another bat, namely at 3B.

You know how tehteh can't understand why the Braves would acquire Beltre or Mous when they already have Camargo at 3B?

I'm like that with the SPs, except the young SPs on the roster are actually good. Rather than waste resources on a declining Stroman, go ahead and roll with Folty, Newk, Soroka and Gohara...all of whom are likely as good or better than Stroman is now...are already on the roster...making almost zero money.

Oh yeah, and the Braves also have Julio and McCarthy on the roster to eat up innings, with Allard in AAA just in case.

So let's go ahead and avoid spending resources on even more starting pitching that will just decline...mmkay?

The Yankees are about to have a possible roster crunch on the IF, and it may make Walker available.

After posting a putrid .402 OPS in April, he has posted a .979 OPS in May on the back of a high .353 BABIP. When that regresses back to his usual .280-.300 range, I expect him to continue to produce at his typical .750-.800 OPS clip.

I'm only guessing he can play 3B (like BP easily did), but he can also move to 2B if Albies gets hurt or is needed at SS. He can also back up 1B if Freeman ever wants to take a day off.

Did you just make a list?

Any moves made will rely on money available. If there is any, then they can upgrade. If there's a good bit they may upgrade without having to give much up.

Freese and 3B coach Joey Cora got into a little scuffle: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ml...rated-in-pirates-dugout/ar-AAxWDJc?li=BBnb7Kz

If Freese is available (Moran gets a lot of innings at 3B), the Braves could certainly use his MLB-average bat and plus defense at 3B.

Only making 4.2million this year. Club option for 2019 at 6 million with 500k buyout.

I'd liken him to a right handed Markakis (pre-MVP) with the bat. Strikes out a tad more (a poor man's right handed Markakis?)

I'm trying to decide whether I would be comfortable picking up that option and let him start the season in 2019 as 3B with the idea of moving him into a bench role if Riley makes it up.

There would be worse things than having Freese keep Riley's seat warm and then transition into a bench role where he tries to fight Washington for running the Braves into outs.

A L/R combo of Tucker/Freese off the bench would be nice.

AA is smarter than that.

Small piece (not fried) for Herrera and we donezo

I’m willing to bet anything you want that the Braves add more than a BP arm if they are still in contention.

You are still high off the Camargo walk off, and draw conclusions based on the last 10 pitches you’ve seen at any given time.

I like Camargo more than most, but I would still be more comfortable acquiring Beltre at the deadline. And the way McCarthy has been performing lately, someone like Liriano or Happ makes a lot of sense for us. Also, Chris Archer's value may never be lower (though likely still relatively high) if we're still looking into him.
