Political Correctness

America is a racist country.

Also, Roseane has been scrubbed from tv due to one dumb racist tweet.

I thought what she said about George Soros was pretty awful...but it seems no one else found it remarkable

edit: I see his son took exception...good for him

Try to erase that 60 minutes interview from the past all you want. It came from the horses mouth

I disagree with the first sentence. It's more complicated than that. Clearly there are racists who think that now is the time to take a stand on their paranoid beliefs, and there's plenty of ugly history in America, but the country, the government and its laws is doing its best to fight back.

Roseane has a long history of such. The Soros tweet was pretty slanderous too. Never thought she was funny.

Soros saying he collaborated

1. How does that line up with what Roseanne tweeted, and the other smears of Soros along those lines?

2. The transcript says that Soros felt no sense of guilt for accompanying his protector as a young teen, impersonating a Christian to avoid persecution, once while administrating the confiscation of Jewish persons' property. He says he didn't feel guilt because he had no responsibility for or agency in the matter. Does this make him a collaborator? That's in the eye of the beholder, I guess, but it's certainly a far cry from the slimy allegations.

**** that guy while my family died during the holocaust.

And the actual question asked was how he 'helped' in the confiscation of Jewish property. His response was yes.

Posed as a Christian and helped with the confiscation of Jewish property. That's what he admitted. What is possible that he didn't admit to?

That's just ... ugh.

You know, there has been a decades-long attempt to find and adjudicate responsibility for this sort of thing. It's remarkable in its scope and depth. It's turned up people who are living incognito half a century later...but you think a public figure living under the same name is hiding those kinds of skeletons.

Money buys a lot of luxuries the normal man can't afford

Ignore his admission all you want

I'm not ignoring anything. A 14 year old Jewish boy was placed under the protection of a man who worked for the government. His "identity" was some sort of relative or godson of the man. Soros acknowledged accompanying this man when he was sent to take over property that a Jewish family had left behind. So that makes him a collaborator?

And that justifies Roseanne's tweet about him turning in other Jews to Hitler?

I don't think so on either score.

Btw this resonates more than slightly with me given that I have a 14 year old Jewish son. I'm not Jewish but my wife is and so is my son. Imagine 70 years from now if someone asked my son about me taking him somewhere to take away property from a family and him saying, yes I remember going to do that. It is beyond unfair to imagine that my son would be in any way responsible for whatever I did when I took him along with me.

Did you read the link cited? He visited the property of a landowner who was no longer there.

I have no real qualm if you want to call it cooperation or collaboration. His father purchased phony papers in order to save his family. He was involved, in a tangential and immaterial way, in the horrific machinery of the Holocaust. You are entitled to your thoughts and feelings about that. But you're not entitled to make **** up.

I'm also continually perplexed by your support and admiration for European nationalists who are bargain-bin Nazis who'd try again if given the chance.
