ALL-STARS

FSL: P Chad Sobotka (2-0, 2.21, 3 saves PROMOTED TO MISSISSIPPI): Brett Cumberland (.231-4-18, 4 HBP); Cristian Pache (.296-3-23)

Has Cumberland learned how to get out of the way? After being hit by pitches as astounding 41 times last year, beginning with May 2nd, he went the entire month without being hit by a pitch.

Drew Waters 3-3 with three singles and a walk. The best news of his breakout season is the K rate. It was at 35% at Danville last year. Down to 21% at Rome right now.

Staying on the 2017 draft, Freddy Tarnok has had an intriguing start to the year. Picks up the win today with 3IP 1H 0BB 4Ks, sporting a 0.98 ERA over 27+ innings. Peripherals aren't quite as shiny as he has walked 21, but 39 punch outs and no HRs allowed. Not bad for a 19 year old in full season ball who was advertised as projectable but very raw, the potential is clearly there.

He was considered raw st the time he be as picked so I'm happy with the high k totals and keeping the ball inside the park. Wasn't his comp degrom?

Very early but its starting to look like the first three drafts after the dark wren era are absolute home runs.

He’s still not as good a prospect as Randy Ventura. Fat Ben declared it so.

After a good start last time out, Kyle Wright is back to getting rocked like normal.

Would rather he not give up runs of course but he's throwing strikes and getting groundballs.

Wright's having a fine year and is well positioned to be in the rotation by June 2019.

Fat Ben? Seriously. Come on, man.

He has to have SOMETHING to hold onto - it'd be an absolute shame if he harmed himself after actually having to admit that he can't find a single number on a spreadsheet to explain why thethe was right about where the Braves stand after today.

Waters has been a blast to watch so far. Promotion by midseason or no?

The game has changed a lot, but Chipper Jones spent his entire first full season in Low A. Acuna may have been promoted midway through his first full season if he hadn't gotten injured. But I would leave Waters where he is unless he just becomes flat-out too big for the league. It could happen, but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't.

It’s so cute that folks are trying to copy me with their sigs, by can’t find anything as stupidly wrong as the things I quoted in mine haha.

5 Ks to 1 BB in 5 IP with no HRs. Also getting lots of ground balls. I think that's a pretty encouraging start. From the box score it looks like the runs were more a result of bad luck on balls in play.

This is my take as well. The underlying peripherals with Wright are extremely positive.
