I figured I'd go ahead and get a jumpstart on this thread since the game is going to be late and I'll likely be in bed since I'm an early-riser.

This road trip has been absolute murder for the Braves for years it seems. I'd love to change that tonight!

I always used to look forward to San Diego games under Bobby. We always had some fun series and played really well there.

yeah...walk offs seem to guarantee a loss the next day...plus the long trip with no travel day

But the combination means less time to party, so maybe they’ll cancel each other out?

You'd be right about that. The west coast (pacific time) road trips (or those portions of road trips) have been brutal the last five years. We've had one winning road trip out of our last 12 trips out west, including two 0-fers, one of which was an 0-8.

Overall, we are 23-51 on the west coast in the last 5 years, good for a .311 winning percentage - compared to a .472 overall. Even by season, our WP on the west coast is much lower compared to overall, except last year which was right in line - .450 vs. .444. Record by year:

13: 4-10 (96-66)
14: 2-12 (79-83)
15: 4-9 (67-95)
16: 4-9 (68-93)
17: 9-11 (72-90)

Very happy to see Snit move Ender down in the lineup.

Would rather have Markakis first, Albies (or even Camargo, given his improved bb-rate this year) second, the catcher cleaning up (if slow, at least fewer right-side GBs than Kakes), and then Camargo(/Albies) fifth. But baby steps.

Markakis
Camargo
Freeman
Albies
Catcher du jour
Inciarte
Not Acuña
Bae
Throwing Guy

or slide Inciarte back to ninth, where he seemed to like it, and bump the remainder up.
