Around the League: 2017 offseason edition / 2018 Season

Is it bad I’m at a place where I want us to be good enough to force the nats to make a realmuto trade and the phils make a machado trade over us winning?

Really hope we do not trade from our top 15 for a rental

ideally they make those trades and we make the playoffs without giving up any top prospects...it is not farfetched

In which of his < .700 OPS seasons did anyone see this coming? He's an all-time defender and his hitting has improved dramatically, but he looked like a put-it-in-play guy who outside of one season never showed much in the way of power. I love revisionism.

He has shown it though. He hit 17 homers his rookie year. He's always done a good job with K/BB rate, all he needed to do was piece those pieces together.

he got the best possible outcome. but again, there's no way anyone could have thought he'd do this. beating his best wRC+ by over 30 points.

Ohtani put on the DL with a grade 2 sprain of his UCL.....according to google, grade 1 means the ligament is stretched, grade 2 means partial tear, but there are varying degrees of grade 2....

will be interesting to see how this plays out

Weren't there rumors about this being an issue in Japan and that's why he sought to come over here this year instead of wait for the massive payday?

he'll probably get a PRP injection.

Whoops..nevermind...sounds like he has already had both PRP and stem cell treatments.

This was not unexpected. The story came out the day after the Angels won him and said they were aware of the issue and still happy to have the player.

...and with a Grade 4 sprain, you go see Dr. Andrews for a lollipop.

so we were all thoroughly disappointed in Dansby's season last year, but Scott Kingery is about matching Swanson's stink so far this year. i really thought that kid would hit the ground running

hopefully extending him fully backfires on the Phillies
