Soroka to DL

To the eyes his stuff has seemingly pretty consistently dropped off in the bigs after making more than 1 start in a row.

It's very concerning. I hate it, but that troll on twitter that talked about Ronald, then Mike might not be so wrong after all.

He just needs a day off.

AA saying they want to give him 30 days off and then a 30 day stint to ramp back up in the minors. Says that's been the plan since he went on the DL the second time. They want to make sure this time the shoulder has had enough time to fully recover.

This leaves us in a situation where Allard could be a key part of the rotation if any of the current 5 get hurt or falter. There are other options like Fried and Wisler, but I think Allard is next in line for an opportunity.

Wes Parsons is being added to 40 man and called up, Wisler back to AAA. It appears to me that Allard will not be called up in this season.

I'm gonna wait until he has a few effective 5+ inning outings in AAA before counting on him. But he could be an option in the second half, for either the rotation or pen.

There was a time when I was envisioning a September/Post-Season rotation that included Soroka, Gohara, Newk and Folty. That vision is receding.

Soroka was pretty much the safest pitcher in the Braves organization...and he went down. This sucks.

Yet folks still want to dump major resources into acquiring a single SP.

I wonder if they have Allard working on something, and want to see him continue to work on it without the stress of facing major-league hitters. I’m basing this solely on circumstantial evidence, but it’s been interesting that he’s seen an uptick in both Ks and runs allowed the past few weeks.
