Why are there two Bowmans?
the answer is fairly self-evident

The problem for the Mets is their hometown. It's hard to do admit to rebuilding when you have the Yankees across the East River from you. There is a competition there for fans.
Meanwhile, the Yankees essentially rebuilt themselves without really doing it. Suddenly they have more young players than old.

when you have a couple pitchers like DeGrom and Syndegaard you always have a sluggers chance assuming you can make the playoffs...they have enough budget to surround them with a competent supporting cast...just hasn't worked out this year
Jim Bowden’s recommendations for contending NL teams
Braves get: Cole Hamels and Keone Kela
Rangers get: Touki Toussaint, Christian Pache, Bryse Wilson, PTBAL
Phillies get: Manny Machado and Zach Britton
O’s get: JP Crawford, Adonis Medina, Cole Irvin, Connor Seabold
Sorry that’s too much for Hamels. I pass
Wait so (using fangraphs rankings) we trade the number 37 prospect in baseball to start the season, number 60 prospect, and a big upside prospect plus who knows what PTBNL would be involved. For Hamels and a reliever and no money. Or to use Sickels system, 3 B prospects, and a PTBNL. The Phillies trade 29th, 73rd, and a high upside pitcher and a low ceiling pitcher for Machado and reliever. Or a B+, a B and 2 C+ players.
Basically he's saying we should trade more for a more expensive lower quality starting pitcher because we're getting a better reliever? Or does he not value our guys very much?
maybe he's just an idiot?
He's either ignorant about prospects, or is trying to get folks like us to discuss his opinions.
Probably a little of both.
I don't think he cares about people on message boards talking about him. Though I'm sure he likes retweets and dumb**** like that.

The idea is to get folks talking about his content, good or bad.
Call it "The Howard Stern Effect".

Tim Tebow made the Eastern League All-Star team. And while the selection is mostly about marketing, Tebow is actually playing fairly well. Especially when you consider he's a 30 year old with 1 professional season under his belt and his 1st year in AA.
Tebow > Jordan

When it comes to baseball? Sure.
When it comes to football? Jordan > Tebow
