Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland Athletics, new stadiums, and expansion discussion

Eff the Nationals getting more money when they have already been getting MLB support. If anyone needs to move, it should be the Zombie Expos.

The chances are very remote, but this write up talks about the Orioles future in Baltimore.

I cannot imagine Baltimore moving. They're likely doing that threat as posturing. Reality is that the Nationals and the move were ****ty and it's just a matter of time until another washington franchise folds. As a winning franchise they're averaging 30K in the stadium with a hugely inflated payroll. They need handouts to stay viable. They're bound to fail when the chips are down.

After reading that, I think they're probably going to move.

I can't see it. I've had the chance to attend games there, and like the article says, they're still wildly popular and well attended. I could see if nobody was showing up to the games.

The Rays coming announcement could put some pressure on the A’s, or else they may not have much of a future in Oakland. Sports in that city is already in trouble with the Raiders and Warriors soon moving.

Renderings of the Rays proposed new park look awesome (From the Tampa Bay Times)

Giants fans would absolutely riot if they moved out of that beautiful park. I go to AT&T all the time and it’s an absolute baseball treasure.

no doubt

the best park in the league imo from the 26 i have been to

I like Suntrust, but they should have put a retractable roof.

i wouldn't have been opposed to that. we get a lot of rain

i don't like the fake city vibe of the complex (reminds me of Dubai in that way of just one day building something where nothing was etc) and i don't like the lower level seats that are under the overhang
