2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

I get tired of the pot shots by both sides. All the belittling that goes on is really annoying. I read this site everyday for the updates on prospects and stuff but man....sometimes it is very difficult. So much childish behavior is allowed. The signatures that quote other posters' old messages is just as bad. Why point out so publicly when someone is wrong? It's all so childish. I really wish the site admins/mods would take it more seriously. And it's not just enscheff. It's those going after him as well.

Pot shots??

Jerry crasnick says that we have made an offer to the Os for Machado but we are on the fringes if interested teams and are more focused on upgrading our rotation

He said pitching and we are looking at both but that it looks like the market has more relievers to chose from.

makes sense...of all our needs situational lefty should be the easiest and cheapest to take care of...which means it would make sense to do that last

I think our first move will be for someone like Solarte/Cabrera/Dietrich

I agree. We might be better to not go for it. I don’t think we are ready. Make some smaller trades, see if we can make playoffs.

I think this winter is the time to go for it.

More money to play with, and a full year to understand who to trade, etc. And whoever wins the NL is getting their ass kicked in the WS by the AL.

I dont think Philly has the system for Britton and Machado but thats alot to pay for a slim chance to win the NL.

I know the break is on the way, but is Viz going to be able to stay healthy at all for the rest of this year? Back on the DL, so I think a high leverage RP jumps out at you for the deadline. Keone Kela, or specifically the Braves actually scouted Joe Jimenez.

Even with the latest on Viz I don't think a high leverage guy is a high priority.

I'd shift Biddle to a high leverage role. I'd go with a pen that looked like this:

1-3. Minter, Winkler, Biddle as the high leverage guys

4. Situational lefty to be acquired

5. Carle situational righty/long man

6. Moylan situational right

7. Freeman long man

8. Jackson sacrificial lamb

Joe has been great this year and has tons of control left

Looks like Machado to the Dodgers. Names being thrown out are Diaz and May going back to the Orioles among others. Super steep price if true. Our equivalent is maybe Waters and Bryce Wilson?
