Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

TBF, his law career seemed to consist of insurance scans, fronting for taxi medallion crooks, steering his father-in-law’s mobbed-up friends to buy Trump condos, and doing NDAs for David Dennison.-

I mean, dude is clearly a crook, so I have no problem seeing him get his comeuppance, but I don’t judge him for the recordings of Trump. He knew perfectly well that Trump would cut him loose holding the bag if push came to shove.

The timeline looks...bad.
There has never been one whit of a doubt in my mind that Trump knew about the meeting beforehand. While the constant public lies do imply a vague awareness of right and wrong and the blurred lines of propriety, we've heard enough through leaks to know that behind closed doors it's a 5 alarm fire of confusion. Of course Donald knew that Junior, Kushner and Manafort were meeting in Trump Tower with Russians promising dirt on Hillary and of course Trump couldn't resist the temptation to talk about it.

"In a professional operation, you’d never let the candidate know about these kinds of offers because it would preserve plausible deniability. But these guys were all amateurs.”

Bannon?

It may have cost him a presidential pardon on the federal charges.

From Slate article on timeline of denials.

June 3, 2016: Trump Jr. receives an email offering “information that would incriminate Hillary” as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”

June 8: Trump Jr. forwards the email thread to Kushner and Manafort.

June 9: Date of the meeting. Trump Jr. now says the information offered was not of interest and that the meeting focused on the lawyer’s desire to change adoption-related sanctions against Russia.

*****************
It appears that it took Junior 5 days to realize that he had the Russian offer sitting in his Inbox, or maybe it took him 5 days to decide that instead of protecting Kush and Manafort by telling them in person, he would leave the evidence in their computers too. No need to go down alone.

That’s the funniest thing about it. It should tell you everything you need to know about Trump’s judgement.

hmmm...five top people from the Trump campaign (including Rick Gates) held a meeting two days ahead to plan strategy for the "adoptions" meeting at Trump Tower.

we could name at least 5 ( present and past ) seemingly intelligent posters - on this board alone - that have argued the same

When is someone ON AIR gonna point out that no matter what Michael Cohen says or does, he'll still have more credibility than Guilinani.

actually it is a push between Cohen and Trump Jr or Sr

but it is unlikely to come down to just one person's word against another

Giuliani pushing a new line: collusion is not a crime.

This point has been made more than one during the course of this thread, but let’s just recap:

1. No meetings with Russians
2. Well, we did meet with Russians, but there was no collusion.
3. Well, maybe there was collusion, but Trump wasn’t involved.
4. Well, maybe Trump was involved, but it wasn’t criminal

They’re running out of space to retreat to.

Don't forget the subset for #2

A) we did meet with the Russians for opposition research but they had nothing of substance.

B) we did meet with the Russians but it was nothing more than about adoptions.

so...

5) the crimes were little technical violations of laws no one knew about

6) Hillary and the Dems did the same or worse

7) Yeah, maybe a few laws were broken but it wasn't treason

8) So what if it was treason, Mueller didn't pay his golf club dues

I saw it on the front stand at Barnes and Noble today when I walked in. Looked at the title for 2 seconds laughed then walked off.

Thought it was written by Dinesh D'souza for a minute, but it seems he's got a new movie coming out as well.

I plan to download the audio book and listen to it.
