FRIDAY MINORS FINAL 8/3/18: New faces in new places

Fact: In almost any other system...Gohora, Wright, Wilson, Touki, Fried and Soroka would be the top pitching prospect and probably the the #1 or #2 in the system. So, I would really like to see all these guys get a shot. I know that won’t happen, but if they are traded...I sure hope it’s for a BIG difference maker (like Degrom...which is t likely).
 
They are pushing them to see which guys can handle it and see who to keep. A big trade is coming this offseason whether it’s for a 3b, Of’er, or Ace. As much as I love all these prospects they can’t keep em all and keeping them in the high minors for a long period will bring down their value imo.
 
I agree, I just hope we don’t lose two or three of the best ones simply because we don’t have the spots to let them win it.

I like competition. Go into spring training and let the guys battle it out.

I’m not sure I would trade big assets for 3rd base?? We can sign someone, we have Riley and Camargo has been good also. It’s really the last place I would sink assets into.

So where do you trade it for if Camargo/Riley is 3B.

1B is set with FF, 2B with Ozzie, SS you can upgrade but Swanson is fine for now, Acuna/Ender in 2 of 3 of the outfield spots. Who is available in trade for the outfield. We do need an upgrade at catcher long-term, not sure if Suzuki/Flowers peform like this again. I'd make a run at Realmuto and extend him, fits the window/timeline or spend some cash on Grandal.

The flow of this stream of thought leads towards doing nothing.

Never trade anything until you’ve decided (long after it has ceased to have value) it’s not as good as you thought or you haven’t come to love it yet.
 
I might reopen looking at Realmuto, but if Jeter is going to be dumb, pivot to Grandal/Ramos. I'd keep one of the tandem and let go the other. May end up doing 0 trades if no to the Realmuto sweepstakes we might see.

You dont have to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade, but.

A lot of these SP's are gonna be ready soon and there isnt room for all of them, that leads to trades to upgrade the ML roster.
