GDT 8/4 Braves (Gausman) @ Mets (Wheeler)

Looks like we might have two innings after Wheeler leaves to try to do something. We're not touching Wheeler tonight.

Yep.

It was known that Wheeler was killing it lately and is finally looking like he's going to live up to what he could be, but he's gone after next year even if he keeps doing it and the two more established guys are either you sign them or are gone soon too.

They should try to extend Wheeler to a team friendly deal while they can and trade DeGrom in the off-season. DeGrom's value will never be higher and it will take them at least a couple years to rebuild, a DeGrom will be either gone in FA or will be in decline (or both). DeGrom could net any prospect in baseball right now, and if they choose right, they could speed up their rebuild by a year or two. Mets don't have much in the minors currently, but their best prospects currently are position prospects with 2 of them at AA or higher, so that does help.

Yep, not looking good. We're sloppy mentally and physically tonight which you can't be with a pitcher who's dealing like Wheeler is.
