Not weight lifting for awhile and then trying to lift in the gym is a big slap in the face. It's so humbling and embarrassing.

That hardest part is getting back started. Once you get into the routine again the addiction sets in. Since July 10th I've gone to the gym everyday except 4 days. 2 of those were travel/flight days. Before that I hadn't gone for a month due to traveling and being on the road and coaching.

I unfortunately cannot weight lift anymore and actually can’t even exercise much. Issues in my back from the army days just won’t go away. I have sciatic nerve problems that just won’t go away. I am too afraid to even try anything because you use your back for just about everything. Every day things are tough and painful. Good to see you are finding a routine.

Gotta build your core back up. Glutes, Hammies, Spinaeus, Obliques, Abs.

The back pain I had is now gone. I was lifting and wondering why I had pain on tennis court going from back downt hrough my leg. Started doing core work again and now that nerve pain is gone.

It’s especially difficult to workout with degenerative discs as well. It’s doable, but right now it’s far too painful if I bend down.

Safe to say since this thread is resurrected I have a new healthy hobby. Got my CF L1 cert and have been coaching a good bit at our gym. Also put in a really nice home gym in my garage.
