GDT: Braves @ Dodgers (NLDS Game 4, October 7, 2013)

I'm reacting rationally...I'm disappointed yes, but I'm not going to torch the village over it. The team still had a great year, and their youth really showed in this series. Heck...when Freddie Garcia throws your second best start in the series you probably have to figure that you're in trouble.

Hats off the Garcia, and the team...looking forward to next season.

Mostly speaking to the bolded portion. Don't really think it's accurate that tonight was just another game.

Well McCann struck out 4 times this game..........hmmmmmm. You ain't getting the calls if you don't swing the bat this game or any other game this series.

It's like all of our players and coaches don't understand the very basic premise of having a sense of urgency. Sometimes if they're calling balls strikes, you have to freaking swing at a few balls. Sometimes when you're in the 8th inning and they get a lead off double, you've got to use your best pitcher, because there's no tomorrow if you don't.

And it's going to be until we prove we're not walk overs in the first round but say what u want the dodgers spend money we don't who's fault is that. We need to get a real owner who cares about the braves maybe if we're 120 instead of 95 or so we could match up better the fact is we had to go to a rookie in a must win situation and the 9th I knew we were going to strike out at least twice it's a shame Freddy pitched his heart out and if I'm kimbrel right now I'm pissed

Jason hit like BJ
Justin hit like BJ but did usually put up a fight
McCann hit like... well he didn't have a hit
Elliot hit like Uggla... when he couldn't see

However y'all want To slice it Craig should have pitched the 8th and 9th. Don't give a $%&* if he has done it before. Its a freaking elimination game. Ride with on of the best relievers ever. Not freaking Carpenter

IA. You win or lose with your best possible team on the field. Who knows if Kimbrel could have held the lead or not, but it's ridiculous not to let him try.

You have to adapt and think fast when your baseball life is on the line. Fredi doesn't. He's running his mouth now on TBS saying they set up the 8th to bring him in at 2 outs. That it was never even a thought to bring him for more than four outs.

Freaking moron.

Fredi saying they had it set up for the four-out save for Kimbrel.

Don't ****ing talk, Fredi. Just don't. You didn't want to bring in Kimbrel, I get it. Now leave me alone.

So now wait, if Fredi was gonna use Janish as a defensive replacement for johnson, why not hit reed in that situation whos a pretty darn good pinch hitter.

Here it is.

I don't blame him, he is the best closer in baseball. He could've got it done too. This talk about his last game proves nothing, he has had close calls before. That doesn't mean he isn't going to be great most nights. Oh well.

So he can't even get the bat cleanly on Carpenter's fastball, but you expect him to be able to take a full swing at one?

You realize swinging and bunting are completely different? Have u seen some do thr best hitters in baseball try to bunt?

Lol Fredi. Those extra 2 outs would have killed Craig. But, inch to save him for Skip Schumaker and AJ Ellis

They don't. Heyward watch two fastballs down the middle and swung at a 60 footer for a K several times this series. McCann, just missed everything or just looked at everything and his play calling, let's not go there. Freeman was to happy swinging at first pitch inside fastballs that he roped into the First basemen mitt many times. EJ just sucks period.

JUP was bad the last game the last few at-bats.

We played scared for the most part. The only person who didn't play scared were CJ, Gattis and Garcia.

Great post. Couldn't have said any better.

Dumbest ****ing thing in the world. If he can do four, six would be seven or eight pitches more, if that. In the end, the decision/play that cost us the game (and ultimately the series) was made by Fredi.
