GDT: Phillies @ Braves 9/21

Welp. Need to pull three runs here. Definitely not impossible with three innings left but not likely. Thankfully tonight isn’t at all a must win

Acuna has been awful defensively all season. He's -5.1 according to fangraphs before this game, which comes out to -8.1 over 162. You deal with it though bc he can mash.

UZR doesn't like Acuna. DRS and Statcast do. Since statcast is the best in the business I'll go by their metrics.

What they say? That is encouraging that they like him, but boy, he's been quite shaky all year just using eye test

He has only had some issues in LF mostly, as he has a 7 DRS (4 in CF, 2 in RF and 1 in LF). He should be -1 DRS in LF after tonight though. I like him best in RF, he saved 2 runs in the few games he played there in Boston.

That's he's a plus defender overall. Besides that number you quoted includes his negative position ranking. His UZR on the year is only -0.9 which isn't horrible by any stretch.

He's had some poor moments for sure but overall I'd say he's a positive defender this year.

Not how it works but that was a big negative play. lol

It's very dumb but even as the bad plays had diminished some, he looks like an uncomfortable, lost puppy in left field. Where he can just go naturally, which is indeed, CF and RF because he's played it the most, even though there is still a bad play here and there, he looks much more natural. In left, it's unnatural and it's almost unreal given that left is traditionally thought of as the easier position.

That is the hit that gets albies going. I've had the feeling for a while that albies will be our hottest hitter in the playoffs
