people this credibly accused of something like this are rarely innocent.
i'm extremely confident that will never happen to me.
i'm sure she's just lying for the death threats, tho.

This reminds me when Judge Kavanaugh was asked at his first hearing whether he believed the women* who had accused his former boss and mentor (Judge Kozinski) of sexual misconduct.
"I have no reason not to believe them" was what he said.

There's a word for a system where the accused is required to prove their innocence...inquisition. You okay with that system?
for this type of setting? no. this isn't the justice system. this is a job interview.

The philosophy is the same whether it's a justice system or a job interview. The prosecutorial system is based on our belief as a society that it is better to see the guilty go free than the innocent be punished. The inquisitorial system is based on the belief as a society that it's better for the innocent to be pushed than the guilty to go free.
If you believe as a philosophy that it's better for the guilty to go free than the innocent be punished, you'll apply that philosophy whether you're building a criminal justice system or conducting job interviews.
I don’t know what the **** you are talking about, but it’s not related to the issue at hand and certainly not more than a melodramatic emotional outburst.
kavanaugh isn't going to jail. no one is looking for a perpetrator and potentially arresting the wrong person in this scenario. that's a major difference.
he's potentially being denied privilege to one of the most important jobs in the country based on previous poor judgement. he's also overwhelmingly partisan. Ford is not.
i understand he isn't accustomed to facing consequences, but nothing about what Dr. Ford testified to today comes off as a lie. This wasn't something she concocted last week.
don't remember discussing if watching porn was immoral? you certainly felt that way years back.
i suppose once people in your political party are accused (and admit to, even) sexual assault, none of that matters, tho.
